Spaghetti Squash Recipes

Everyone is on the lookout for new, healthy food ideas to diversify their diet and one of the best new ingredients to try is known as Spaghetti Squash. It resembles a small rockmelon in both shape and color and can grow to be between eight inches (20 centimeters) to 14 inches (35 centimeters) long. When cooked spaghetti squash can be used to create delicious flavor combinations. To cook them, cut the squash in half. Next, use a scoop to remove all the seeds from inside the squash. Next, drizzle olive oil inside the squash and put in some seasoning. When seasoning, you can use salt and pepper, however, you might want to try some other spices like garlic or chili powder. The next step is to cook the squash. You can either do this using an oven or a microwave. If you have the time an oven is preferable as it produces a richer taste than a microwave. First, let’s discuss how to cook them in an oven. To do this, cover a tray with baking paper and preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit or 200 degrees Celsius. Then, place the squash cut side down onto the tray and put into the oven for 30 to 40 minutes. The squash is cooked when it is tender. Alternatively, you can put the squash into a tray with one inch (2.5 centimeters) of water. Then set the microwave to high and cook for 15 minutes. Regardless of the method you use, when the squash is cooked you should be able to use a fork to scrape the sides and produce spaghetti-like stands. You can serve this on its own or combine with other foods to create an even more delicious meal. There are many flavors and ingredients that work well with spaghetti squash, so try to find ones that work with your palate.  For example, try combing the squash with some avocado and cheese. Alternatively, you can try some beans and spinach.
