I like trying new foods. I’ve eaten most parts of a pig. I also must admit I have eaten rabbit, squirrel and frog legs. People always say those animals taste just like chicken. Well, they didn’t taste like chicken to me. They tasted like a rabbit, a squirrel, and a frog. So, now there are a lot of meatless burgers on the market, and the manufacturers claim that they taste just like hamburgers. Chef Daphne decided to test this out.
Chef Daphne sent me a picture of the meal she was preparing. She had bought Meat-free burgers that were made by The Meatless Farm Company. (They were on sale and cheaper than another more well-known meatless burger that shall remain nameless.) The Meatless Farm Company makes plant-based mince, burgers, and sausages. On their website, they recommend themselves by saying they are “meat-free, but not taste-free”. Everything that goes into their fresh food is natural.
I asked Chef Daphne if she would recommend these burgers. She said yes – they taste like meat and are delicious. I asked her did she add anything to the patty. She said she simply seasoned the patty with salt and pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and some cayenne pepper. She then browned it on both sides with a little olive oil. Chef Daphne is adding this burger to her Delishes Dishes! So, brown your favorite bun, add a little lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and your favorite condiments, and you’ve got your new favorite burger. It tastes just like a hamburger. For real.
