Simple and Delicious Summer Treats

Everyone loves enjoying summer with some delicious treats. Below are five very easy-to-make and refreshing treats to make this summer.

  1. Fresh berries popsicles

The things you will need are:

  • Popsicle moulds
  • Fresh mint
  • Raspberries
  • Blueberries
  • Blackberries
  • Lemonade

Note: You can substitute any fruits with your favourite ones.

To make the fresh fruits popsicles:

Step 1: Cut your berries in the shape that you like and place them in the popsicle moulds.

Step 2: Add some mint leaves and pour the lemonade all the way to the top.

Step 3: Pop them in the freezer for at least 6 hours and enjoy!

  1. Avocado Bruschetta

The things you will need are:

  • Wheat French bread
  • Avocados
  • Lemon
  • Fresh basil
  • Olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Mozzarella pearls

To make the avocado bruschetta:

Step 1: Toast your French bread slices lightly

Step 2: Cut your cherry tomatoes in quarters and place them in a bowl

Step 3: Cut some basil leaves and add them to the bowl

Step 4: Drizzle some olive oil over the tomatoes and basil leaves and mix them together

Step 5: Slice your avocados in thin slices, place them on the bread slices and drizzle with some fresh lemon juice

Step 6: Top the bread slices with the tomato-basil mixture together with some mozzarella pearls

Step 7: Drizzle lightly with some balsamic vinegar and they are ready to eat!

  1. Banana Split Bites

The things you will need are:

  • Bananas
  • Strawberries
  • Chocolate chips
  • Chopped cashews
  • Popsicle sticks

To make this treat:

Step 1: Cut your strawberries in half

Step 2: Peel and cut the bananas in little chunks

Step 3: Assemble the strawberries and banana chunks by placing one banana chunk sandwiched between two strawberry halves and insert the popsicle stick through them. Repeat for as many treats as you want.

Step 4: Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave

Step 5: Dip the fruit kebabs halfway in the melted chocolate and coat with chopped cashews.

Step 6: Let everything sit in the fridge for a few minutes and they are ready to be served.

  1. Cappuccino Coolers

The things you will need are:

  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate Ice Cream (Or Vanilla Ice Cream)
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Chilled coffee

To make this drink:

Step 1: Place one and a half cups of ice cream in the blender

Step 2: Add ¼ cup of chocolate syrup

Step 3: Add your chilled coffee (quantity depending on your taste)

Step 4: Blend them all together

Step 5: Serve with ice cubes and top with whipped cream. Enjoy!

  1. Tortilla chips and guacamole

The things you will need are:

  • Tortilla wraps
  • Ripe Avocados
  • Tomatoes
  • Lemon juice
  • Onions
  • Salt and Pepper

To make the tortilla chips:

Step 1: Cut the tortilla wraps in small triangular shapes

Step 2: Heat some oil and fry the tortilla chips for 2-3 minutes

To make the guacamole:

Step 1: Peel and mash your avocados in a bowl using a fork

Step 2: Cut some tomatoes and onions in very small pieces and add them to the bowl

Step 3: Add some lemon juice, salt and pepper as per your taste

Step 4: Mix them all together and dip in the tortilla chips!
